Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, native Sarah Luisa Bryan grew up in the Carolinas and Virginia, in a family of Carolinian and Cuban heritage. She plays old-time music (fiddle and banjo), and collects 78 rpm records and old photographs. In addition to music and folklife, Sarah is interested in animal welfare, and loves reptiles, swamps, Tar Heel basketball, and the Andy Griffith Show. She lives in Durham, North Carolina, with her family and cats.
